Never Give Up

Perseverance is word used constantly in sports.  Coaches and athletes alike have to possess a winner's attitude and the will to never give up when times are tough.  As an athlete my whole life I possessed this quality, but in my post athletic career have not been able to sustain it.  Without coaches, teammates, and others encouraging me and going through it with me, I struggle to motivate myself.

6 months ago I committed myself to lose 100 lbs in a year.  I was well on my way, losing 25lbs in the first month.  I felt good, enjoyed the rush of exercising, and loved the way I felt.  But, as I have done many times before, life got in the way and I let that be an excuse.  I gained back the 25 lbs and that is where I sit right now.

It is time for a NO EXCUSE attitude.  I am starting my lifestyle change and I am going to do everything I can to beat this!  I have a wife and a 9 month old son who I won't be able to spend time with if I stay on this path.  I am committing to a few sustainable goals that will give me a chance at success.  This goal is long term and I intend to fight hard and persevere every day to attain my goal.

My new goal is to lose 60 lbs my the end of the school year (may 20th).  I will then look at what I have done and reevaluate my next goal.  Ultimately I still want to reach my goal of 100, just going to take it one step at a time.

God is my strength and everything I do I must do it for Him.  With his strength in my life and motivation from my family, I WILL DO THIS!

Much Love
